In 2010 I was combing through a series of instrumentals I had written and recorded that didn’t seem like they’d find a home on any of my albums, so I decided to gather these orphaned songs and work on the ones that were in best shape. That batch became GTREP. This time it was a more concerted effort. In other words, I started out with the idea of making a follow up.

Because the great pandemic of 2020 afforded me ample time to work on new music—only two tracks existed in any shape or form prior to these recordings—I found myself with enough songs for an EP and…voilá.

These guitar-based instrumentals reflect my love for both the guitar and different styles of music: acoustic ballads, dirge-y blues, hard rock, post-punk, and even some jazzy neo-soul. I hope you enjoy listening to these tracks as much as I enjoyed making them.

"MdC" is dedicated in loving memory to my mom, María del Carmen.
